We know that it’s scary news at first, but now that you know, you have every opportunity to control what happens next.
Living with HIV isn’t like it used to be. It is no longer a death sentence. You can live a full, productive and healthy life. Some things may have to change, however you may find that embracing change can improve your life.
STEP ONE:
We suggest you take a deep breath and read, “Day One”. This one-page document can help guide you as you are coping with the news of learning your positive HIV status. Think about what it says and know that it was written by people who know what you’re going through and who care about your health and well-being.
STEP TWO:
Reach out and get into services. Visit our page under the “Local HIV Services” button on the home page. You will find the continuously updated list of many of the services available in Northwest Florida. We are here to help you find your way to taking control of your life.
These days, you are fortunate to be living in Northwest Florida and to have access to caring people and a wide variety of services designed to aid you in your early days of living with HIV.
STEP THREE:
After reading “Day One” and finding out about services, return to the home page and visit all of the pages under the home page buttons. There you will find a world of information that can give you new strength and resolve in your fight against HIV.

Held annually at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Positive Living is an HIV Education & Prevention Conference sponsored by Okaloosa AIDS Support & Informational Services. With presenters from all over the U.S., Positive Living provides a relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable HIV-relevant educational experience, which is both nationally and internationally recognized.
